Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni and president Kenyatta set the tone with a strong message to Western nations to recognize the sovereignty of African states.
The celebrations which were attended by 18 African heads of state and government also served to affirm the unity of the continent with a call to Kenyans to guard their hard earned freedoms.
